Pure Michigan lakeside MAGIC.Read More
Sometimes I think, "why don't I live in the mountains?" and then I shoot in the city and remember, "oh. because I love the city."
I'm a nature child at heart so I'm always down to trek into the wild to make portraits, but I think more than I love the ease and beauty of a forest, I love finding touches of nature in the city mixed with the structure and lines (and those beautiful white walls) and seeing the contrast that can be created with it.
These two are another example of how the gods (and shitty restaurant jobs) are magnificent at bringing the right people into your life at the right time.
(sidenote, Kaitlyn is a fantastic designer/illustrator-- she's one of my faves on Instagram! Ch-ch-check her out: @kaitlyndespain)
there's nothing like shooting in a new city with new friends in moody fall light by a river.

We planned. We scheduled. We scouted.
We woke up before dawn to get that beautiful morning light.
The storm rolled in quickly and all our plans fell apart.
We improvised. We go to know each other. We had fun.
Sometimes things going wrong is the best possible scenario. I'm goin cray for these photos and for this couple.
AND this session definitely confirmed-- I LOVE SHOOTING IN A CITY. The streets. The obstacles. The architecture. I diiiiig it.
