Travel makes my world go 'round.

This might be the craziest thing I've done yet.
Nicholas and I had known each other about a month when he mentioned that he wanted to go on a long road trip while his life was so flexible. He didn't think I was serious when I said I wanted to go with him.. But I have a pretty constant desire to go and few friends who actually can with the way their lives are.
A month later we loaded up his car with camping gear, bikes, cameras and a guitar and headed west.
Our goal was to see and experience.. and holy smokes. We did. We explored and camped and froze and biked (through countryside and cities and even a casino).  We met new friends and met up with old friends and experienced so much gracious hospitality. It was three weeks of travel and improvisation and frustration and laughter and... I think some of the best days of my life.

IND > Tulsa > TX > NM > CO > AZ (where we accidentally found the best camping spot in the world) > UTAH (the most beautiful hiking) > Las Vegas (where we biked more than we gambled-- in the least bike-friendly city ever) > LA > Big Sur > San Francisco (where I almost threw a fit because those hills are INSANE to bike on) > Portland > Seattle > MT > WY (where we slept on the snow and got our butts kicked with road closings and flat tires but rolled with the punches) > CO (where we got some pretty serious souvenirs) > IND.

And just like that it was over. It was so good to be home and so nice to be in a familiar bed.. but man. I think I'm ready for another trip.

*all photos by me and Nicholas Cramer, who I think took them just to prove that he's actually pretty good at everything under the sun.
