a VISUAL JOURNAL
or:
‘What I’ve Been Shooting Recently’
Or, more honestly:
‘Some Sessions That I Loved and Meant To Blog Three Months Ago’
because we all know every photographer’s blogging queue is backlogged by at least 147 sessions and weddings.
Come on, we’re all just doing our best here.
A modern, boho wedding at The Bluffs at Conner Prairie, by Fort Wayne Wedding Photographer, Copperhead Photography.
When the day starts out with the mother of the bride choking up because she loves the groom so much.. you know it's going to be a good one. ⚡️This modern barn wedding was at Mustard Seed Gardens, in Noblesville, Indiana where good light always abounds.
Haley & Tom started out the session in a moody, Havana-esque cocktail bar, and finished out the night surfing behind their boat as the sun went down. So if you’re wondering whether I have a major friend crush on them, the answer is, yes.
I loved this film so much I couldn’t just let it wither away in the back of my portfolio— so I pulled it up and did a quick re-edit to make it more consistent with our current/cleaner editing style. Love it even more now. :)
Now offering engagement films! Bring your session to life— capture all that laughter and let’s set it to some rad music.
Emily & Dom: Two laid-back cats who got married on the blessed land of Mustard Seed Gardens. I swear it never rains here, but is somehow always lush and full of endlessly well-lit options for photos. Every time I shoot here I find a new backdrop or angle that reminds me how much I love this place. Anyway, these two were a joy to work with, and in the midst of the chaos going on in the world, I’m so glad they were able to make their commitment official.
There they were, Courtney and Cole, just having a regular, classically beautiful down-home midwest barn venue wedding, when Courtney, the queen of all things unsuspectingly stunning, unzipped her flouncy, ethereal skirt to reveal the world’s hippest jumpsuit, making her the coolest cat in all of Tipton County since the King of Cool himself, Jimmy Dean, last strolled through town. (Okay that is all especially cool because Jimmy Dean is really from Tipton County. What?! I know. Courtney, are you related?! Did I just figure this out?! Is there just something in the air there?! How’d you get so cool?! I’m not yelling— you’re yelling!)
Ahem. Excuse me.
So anyway. Courtney and Cole had a very beautiful wedding in a beautiful barn on a hot day, and I was very happy to be there shooting photos. Please enjoy.
This shoot reminded me that I truly believe everyone should get professional photos taken before they have kids— how else are we going to be able to tease our kids about how hot we were before they existed? I mean, sure we might be still pretty hot during their existence, but there’s really nothing like that full-night-of-sleep, haven’t-yet-been-pushed-to-insanity-by-my-mini-me sexiness that people have pre-parenthood.
In classic 2020 form, after these two decided to elope in Yosemite with their closest friends and family— they were met with wildfires ignited the week before their elopement date. At this point, they could have cancelled it all.
They almost did. But oh boy, I’m so glad they didn’t.
