I try to make the experience of getting your wedding photos special— a beautiful gallery, possibly a slideshow, a solid wood USB drive… but ultimately that’s just you staring at a screen. When your friends stop by are you really going to load up that USB drive and look through your 800 photos? Are YOU going to even do that on your own time after that initial viewing?

We all know there’s something about holding a print in your hand that’s just different than seeing a photo of something on your phone. Yeah, even with nifty apps these days, getting photos printed is still a friggen process. But ohhh baby when those come in the mail it’s like Christmas. That photo I quickly snapped of my daughter at 6 months old is suddenly special because now that it’s printed, I’m going to look back at that moment with the same sense of nostalgia that I have when I pull out the giant box of albums and loose photos at my parent’s house.

It’s a process. But when my own wedding album came in the mail.. it made me a believer. I forgot the stressful moments that happened on our wedding day because the story of the day is told in an album where my husband looked at me like I was the world, and we laughed and cried and I shoved cake in his face and it def got up his nose.

*this seems to be about the perfect number of spreads that gives us enough to comfortably tell the story without having to cut corners, but not so long that it gets diluted.
